Speaker looking into 'harassment' of SP MP

Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee on Wednesday assured a Samajwadi Party member that he was looking into the issue of his alleged harassment by the Madhya Pradesh authorities during campaigning for the assembly polls.

Chatterjee gave the assurance to Chandrapal Singh Yadav, representing Jhansi, when he as also his party colleague Ramji Lal Suman raised the issue during Zero Hour.

Suman said despite the party informing the Election Commission that Yadav would be among the 40 party leaders campaigning in Madhya Pradesh, the member was "harassed" by the state police and a case filed against him
