The rostering will be enforced from on Thursday and will result in 10-hour daily power shortage.
The power-cut hours have been increased despite the completion of 70 MW capacity Middle Marsyangdi Hydel Project three days ago.
The step is taken in the wake of shortfall in power generation due to low water level in the major hydro power projects.
The Nepal Electrical Authority say that it was compelled to impose rostering as with the arrival of winter, the run-of-the river power projects are generating less electricity due to decreasing water flows.
To tackle the electricity shortage the government has announced a plan to set up a diesel plant with 200 MW capacity and declared an emergency situation of national electricity.
