The lunch, held in the presidential palace, was also attended by Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Satyabrata Pal, Pakistan's Environment Minister Hameedullah Jan Afridi and senior officials.
Earlier in the day, Pachauri participated in a regional conference on the theme "Climate Change: Challenges and Opportunities for South Asia" that was inaugurated by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
